My Dear Fellow Readers:
On March 26-27, the University of Louisville Arts and Sciences Department will hold a symposium on Louisville during the first two years of the Civil War. Many of my friends and fellow colleagues were shocked to find out that I was not asked to present a paper on Louisville During the Civil War, considering I wrote the book Louisville During the Civil War: A History and Guide, which by the way in in its second printing. Luckily I will be able to share a table with the Carnegie Center and hopefully have people join the Louisville Historical League and buy my book on Louisville During the Civil War. I will be attending the conference since I met so many of my fellow friends and colleagues at the last conference.

It has been over a year since Bryan has released a book, but the time has now arrived once more. Bryan is today announcing his new book Haunted Battlefields of the South, which was co-authored with Thomas Freese.
Here’s info about the book from Bryan’s main site:
Co-Authors Historian Bryan Bush and Storyteller Thomas Freese bring exciting and chilling tales of the ghosts of the War Between the States!
The ghosts of Civil War soldiers still inhabit the battlefields of our Southern States. Veteran re-enactor and historian Bryan Bush traveled to battlefields and researched both tactical history and on-the-ground life of soldiers on both sides of the War. He and co-author Thomas L. Freese interviewed re-enactors and photographed the places and people who immersed themselves in recreating the soldiers’ camp, social, travel and martial activities.
Read more on the book’s information page. It’s also now available for sale in Bryan’s store. Bryan’s store is the only way you can order the book and get his signature!

Check out Bryan’s freshly upgraded online store. It’s using the latest version of the Zen Cart e-commerce application, so its PayPal transaction handling is the best ever. Also, the store got a minor style makeover, with a special focus on Bryan’s latest book, Louisville and the Civil War. (Hint: this book makes a perfect stocking stuffer!)

Store availability in Louisville will be coming soon on the book’s page on Bryan’s site.
Bryan also told me that Louisville and the Civil War will most likely be making an appearance at the Kentucky Book Fair as well, along with his other new books Lincoln and the Speeds and Butcher Burbridge.

On the books page on Bryan’s site are now links to where you can purchase Lincoln and the Speeds and Butcher Burbridge from either Amazon or Barnes & Noble. Note that these online stores don’t actually have the books in stock yet, so it would work like a pre-order. Of course, in Bryan’s store, the books are in stock and ready to ship today.
Also, in advance of Bryan’s March 29 appearance at Destinations Booksellers in New Albany and April appearances at Borders in Louisville (Fourth Street Live!) and Joseph-Beth Booksellers in Lexington, books are being shipped to these stores. See Bryan’s event page for more details on these appearances. Meanwhile, from what I’m hearing, the books are being shipped to other stores and tourist venues, such as state parks.

It’s no longer tentative. Bryan’s new books Lincoln and the Speeds and Butcher Burbridge ARE going to be at Kentucky Crafted (Acclaim Press booth) Saturday and Sunday, March 8 and 9. Bryan has seen them himself today at Kentucky Crafted, which is today and Friday open only to “the trade” (company/org buyers and such). Bryan is very excited and told me both of the books look great.
Note: The books are still officially available for pre-orders through Friday evening. Get your signed *and* numbered copy before the switchover.
On edit: Added a mention of the booth where Bryan’s books can be found.
