Borders 4th Street Live!

March 31, 2008 By: bryan Category: Book Signings No Comments →

My Fellow Readers,

Just a reminder that I will be signing my books Friday April 4, at Borders on 4th Street from 5 to 7 PM. There should be a huge turnout, since 800 history educators will be in town for a conference. As for my Destinations booksigning, the turnout was extremely light, I had only 12 people, but members of Locust Grove came to my signing and we had a good time discussing the history of the Croghan family and the Clarks. After the bookstore closed, I went to dinner with the members of Locust Grove and had a good time. Hope to see you at Borders.

Dear fellow readers,

Just a reminder that I will be at Destinations Bookstore in New Albany, Indiana on March 29, from 5 to 7 PM. I will be discussing Lincoln and the Speeds. From the weather forecast the day should be nice with no rain, so come on out and say Hi.

Dear fellow readers,

I am getting quite a few new bookings and confirmation for other lectures and book signings. The Lincoln Boyhood Home has just confirmed my book signing for June 14 at 2:30 P.M. and The Lexington History Museum has booked me for a lecture on August 21 at 7:30 P.M. Looks like it is going to be a busy year! I got a email back from History Press Inc. They are defintely interested in my new book project, but they want to publish the book proposal in a series of books. We will see.

Lincoln and the Speeds gets mentioned in Civil War Book News

It’s just a reprint of the publisher’s book description from Amazon, but still, this is a well-produced blog that covers all Civil War book releases, and we think it’s cool.

Bryan’s new books making their way to online and bricks-and-mortar stores

March 11, 2008 By: admin Category: Abraham Lincoln, Book Sales/Availability, Joshua and James Speed, Stephen Burbridge No Comments →

On the books page on Bryan’s site are now links to where you can purchase Lincoln and the Speeds and Butcher Burbridge from either Amazon or Barnes & Noble. Note that these online stores don’t actually have the books in stock yet, so it would work like a pre-order. Of course, in Bryan’s store, the books are in stock and ready to ship today.

Also, in advance of Bryan’s March 29 appearance at Destinations Booksellers in New Albany and April appearances at Borders in Louisville (Fourth Street Live!) and Joseph-Beth Booksellers in Lexington, books are being shipped to these stores. See Bryan’s event page for more details on these appearances. Meanwhile, from what I’m hearing, the books are being shipped to other stores and tourist venues, such as state parks.

Kentucky Crafted Show

March 08, 2008 By: bryan Category: Book Signings No Comments →

I met some really nice people at the Kentucky Crafted show on Thursday before all the bad weather hit. I met the represenative from the Kentucky Artisan Center in Berea, Blue Licks Battlefield and the Lexington History Museum. They all wanted me for a possible lecture and book signing. I really hope that I can work something out with the Lexington History Museum and the Kentucky Artisan Center, it will give me an excuse to see the new museum at both places.

Today I finished my proposal for my new book project and will be sending it to History Press. Keep your fingers crossed and hopefully if all goes well, I will have another book for next year.
